Electronic warfare resilience, seabed warfare sensors, wideband communications, and uncrewed surface vessels are leading R&D budgets. At least six regional navy programs through 2030 will integrate AI-assisted target recognition into combat management systems. Directed-energy lasers are not yet operational, but pre-prototype demonstrators are expected in Singapore before 2033.
