Non-tariff barriers, including customs inspection time and export licensing for high-tech components, push shippers to use dedicated freighter capacity to keep inventory pipelines stable. The net effect is a more fragmented route network, which generally increases demand for medium and large widebody freighters with range flexibility.

The United States and China remain the largest net exporters of high-value air cargo, while Europe is the largest net importer of time-sensitive consumer goods. The Middle East is emerging as a transfer region rather than an end-market, moving freight between Asia, Europe, and Africa. Overall, cross-border air freight is expected to grow at a real rate near 4% per year, outpacing global GDP growth. Tariff uncertainty is therefore not depressing the Freighter Aircraft Market; it is simply altering where freighter capacity is deployed and which regional conversions receive the next delivery slots.
